Easter Egg Paper Plate Handprint Basket

Materials Needed:

  • glue
  • scissors
  • markers/crayons
  • paper plate
  • paint and paintbrush (we used brown)

  • Instructions:
    1. Cut 9 oval shapped pieces used for the eggs.
    2. Color your eggs with markers/crayons.
    3. Cut out the top half of the paper plate, leaving the rim intact.
    4. Paint the bottom of the paper plate brown, including the rim.
    5. Trace the plate onto a piece of construction paper or cardboard (old cereal boxes work well).
    6. Cut out the piece.
    7. Glue or tape the piece onto the back of the painted plate.  This will create a narrow 'pocket' or basket.
    8. Glue eggs into the basket.  Some against the back of the basket and some inside the front.
    9. Trace handprints onto construction paper in whatever colour you prefer.
    10. Glue or tape the handprints along the rim of the basket as a handprint handle.
